Water of Life Tour

7 Day Luxury Coach Tour
Starts September, 2003

A Scottish whisky tour based around Scotland's beautiful and plentiful distilleries. Our suggested route not only takes you on a glorious Whisky tour but will also show you Scotland in all its glory!

Your Itinerary:

Day 1.
Our "Water of Life" tour starts as soon as we meet you at the airport! With a wee nip to wake you up after your flight, we head off right away to Edinburgh, where we visit the Whisky Heritage Centre right next to the castle. With some free time here in the Capital, you might like to see the castle! we meet up again late afternoon and head north to Perth to your hotel for the night. After evening dinner, should you feel you can take more - why not come along to the local pub with us for a drink? Your hotel being in the City centre, you are close to many pubs, of which we can recommend at least four to you within a five minute walk!

Day 2.
After a lazy morning breakfast around 8am, we head out east following the coast to Aberdeen, and follow the whisky trail in the region, stopping at as many distilleries as we can fit in before collapsing at our hotel for the night in Speyside. We aim to give you a grand selection of whiskies tonight at the well stocked bar!

Day 3.
It's west today heading through Inverness, where we take a break from whisky to visit Culloden Battlefield. After a stop here we continue west down the Great Glen on the shores of Loch Ness, with a brief stop along the loch we journey always west until we reach Oban where we sample your favourite nip again at the Oban Distillery. We give you some hours of free time here in Oban - Gateway to the Isles - for shopping, relaxation, food and refreshment. Your hotel will be in town, so you have ample opportunity to sample some of the many pubs here after your evening meal, why not join us for a nip?

Day 4.
A day off from whisky today as we take a whole day trip to Mull, Staffa and Iona. Spectacular scenery, mountains, glens, lochs and beaches abound along this coastline of Scotland. The varied scenic points of Mull (we will stop at Duart castle if time allows), before the wee isle of Iona, birthplace of Christianity in Scotland, with the coming of St Columba from Ireland, and the dramatic rock formations of Staffa. A wonderful day out, and back in time for dinner and a nip in Oban before turning in tonight.

Day 5.
From Oban we head south through Argyll to Kintyre and over to Islay - famed for its whisky! We cram in as much as we can (time permitting) today befor eheading to our hotel on the Island for evening dinner. An Island full of whisky: Bowmore, Ardbeg, Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Bruichladdich, Bunnahabhain and Caol Ila to mention some! You wil bespoiled for choice.

Day 6.
Back on mainland again this morning on the early ferry, we hope you can all stand! Its away to visit Glengoyne Distillery - last on our tour this time, before heading back into the City of Glasgow, where we give you a City Tour, then check into our hotel. You have the remainder of the day free to explore this, our largest city, before dinner at your city centre hotel. A round of drinks at the bar to end our tour and a farewell to you all as its home next day!
